India claims Surgical Strikes across Line of Control in Kashmir, leaving upto 38 terrorists and 2 Pakistani soldiers dead. Operation begins around 12:30 AM on Wednesday. The commandos were airdropped at the LoC, from where they cross over to 2-3 km into Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). 7 terror launch pads were destroyed during the surgical strike, 38 terrorists and 2 Pakistani soldiers were killed and the mission ended at 4:30 AM. The Indian troops suffered no casualties in the operation.
DGMO Lt. Gen. Ranbir Singh said:
"Based on very specific and credible information which we received yesterday that some terrorist teams had positioned itself along the line of control, Indian Army carried out surgical strikes last night at these launch pads. The operations were focused to ensure that the terrorists do not succeed in endangering lives of citizens in our country. During the counter-terrorist operations, significant casualties have been caused to the terrorists and those who were trying to support them. The operations have since ceased,"
"We do not have any plans to continue. However the Indian Armed Forces are fully prepared to deal with any contingency which may arise. I have spoken to Pakistani DGMO and expressed our concern. It is India's intention to maintain peace and tranquillity in the region but we cannot certainly allow terrorists to operate across the Line of Control with impunity and attack our citizens,"

Pakistan says that Indian troops had fired small arms across the Line of Control, killing two soldiers; denying the cross-border strike has taken place.
"No external forces has the capability to challenge the sovereignity and territorial integrity of Pakistan," Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif said in a statement.
