India won the confucius prize for literacy 2016 sponsored by China

The Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), Malappuram, has won the UNESCO confucius award for literacy.

Jan Shikshan Sansthan- Malappuram comes under the aegis of Nilambur Muslim Orphanage Committee which organise various projects ensuring equivalent education to illiterate and neo-literate living in backward regions of Nilambur. The projects offers skill oriented programmes to the economically backward widows, tribal people, physically disabled and mentally challenged of the region.

"It is a recognition for our selfless commitment and dedication for a cause. We will take our work to further levels," said Mr. P V Abdul Wahab, JSS Chairman
