For the development of heritage circuit in Madhya Pradesh and Uttrakhand, Ramayana circuit in Uttar Pradesh, North East circuit in Sikkim and Coastal circuit of Tamil Nadu, the Union Government has approved Rs 450 Crore under Swadesh Darshan Scheme.
The Ministry of Tourism launched Swadesh Darshan for integrated development of tourist circuits around specific themes, and the circuits are:
- North East Circuit
- Himalaya Circuit
- Krishna Circuit
- Coastal Circuit
- Buddhist Circuit
The
scheme was launched with an objective to develop 13 theme-based tourist
circuits in the country, out of which union government has given approval for
five on 6th Sep 2016.
