Every year on 7th
Dec Armed forces of India celebrates its Flag Day. This day is dedicated for
collection of funds from people of India for the welfare of Indian Armed forces
personnel. It has become a ritual to commemorate this day as an honour
soldiers, airmen and sailors of India.
Why we celebrate Flag Day?
After the Independence of India the government arose a need
to manage the welfare of itd defence personnel. Then it was decide to observe a
Flag day annually on 7 December. The purpose for this was Rehabilitation of
battle casualties and Welfare for serving personnel and their families.
The fund collection is
managed throughout the country by the by local arms of the Kendriya Sainik
Board (KSB), which is part of the Ministry of Defence. The fund collection is
organised both by official and non-official means through voluntary
organisations.
Armed force Flag day 2014
Armed Forces Flag Day also known as the Flag Day in India
celebrated in 2014 at Sunday, on 7th of December.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tweeted:
"On Armed Forces Flag Day, I appeal to all of you to
generously donate towards welfare of our Armed Forces, who serve our Nation day
& night".
"Our Armed forces have always risen to the occasion
& performed every duty with a patriotic spirit. Their selfless dedication
is outstanding," the tweet added.
