On December 12 , Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft in its
VIP-configuration was presented at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New
Delhi. It was Russia-India summit
framework which aim to strengthen the relation between the two countries.
The Sukhoi Superjet 100 is a modern fly-by-wire regional
jet with 8 (VIP) to 108 (all Y) passenger seats. It was designed and spearheaded by Sukhoi, a division of the Russian civil aerospace
company (UAC), in co-operation with several foreign partners in year
2000. The Superjet 100 undertook its first commercial passenger flight, from Yerevan to Moscow on 21 April 2011.
President
of UAC Mikhail Pogosyan said: “The first Sukhoi Superjet 100 in the
VIP-configuration was built on the platform of the aircraft, which has already
been successfully performed commercial flights both in Russia and abroad. Given
that the Indian market is one of the most promising for the SSJ100, arrival of
our aircraft here with the first passenger flight can be considered as a new
page in the history of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 project”.
The aircraft operated a non-stop flight Moscow – New Delhi
covering the distance of 4 738 km range for 6 hours and 05 minutes. It is also best because of its
comfortable interior and the on board equipment which allow both working and
relaxing.
